More Wedding Details

A dear blogging friend commented on my previous post and wanted more details regarding our big day, so I thought I would take the time to share a synopsis of the day.

Friday - March 20: Rehearsal at 6:30 and Rehearsal Dinner at 8:00

We are going to have our ceremony at the First Baptist Church in our hometown. This is the church that I was a member of growing up, and where my parents are still members. In an ironic twist of fate, the church provided a wedding coordinator for us, she happens to be my old Sunday School teacher - who was always praying that we girls would find good Christian men someday. I guess God was hearing those prayers. :- ) Our rehearsal supper will be held at the social hall of our current church, which is also the church that M has grown up in. We wanted to include both church's and church families - and I think this is a beautiful way to do it.

Saturday - March 21: Wedding Day

My bridesmaids and I will be up around 8:30 for breakfast and than a trip to the salon where we will be primped and pampered all in preparation for the photos and other events of the day. At 1:30, the entire wedding party and our families will meet at the FBC for photos. Our photographer is wonderful and has plans to get all the shots we want done before 4 p.m. The church is just 1 block off our downtown area (think old brick buildings, a park, old theater), so assuming the weather is warm enough, the majority of our pics will be taken outside in the Spring sunshine.

The ceremony is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m. and will be a very traditional ceremony with one or two twists thrown in. The special music will be performed by my sister and M's sister-in-law (who is also my matron of honor). They will be singing "Because You Loved Me by Jo Dee Messina" and "Some People by Leann Rimes" respectively. After the ceremony, we will have as staged exit as to allow set up time at our reception site. We will then take the limo for a spin around town before arriving out our reception site for a banquet dinner and dancing into the night.

After the reception, M and I will spend our first night as husband and wife here . Then on Sunday morning we will leave for week long honeymoon in the mountains of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, with a side trip to Atlanta.

What other things would ya'll like to know?
