Beyond the Wedding

Tonight M and I hosted a dinner party for our parents - the purpose of which was to discuss wedding plans. Somewhere along the way, M's brother, two nieces and their dog arrived. That made for 7 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs plus lots of noises.

But as I was running between the kitchen and the living room, admist all the noise, it hit me that this was what our "big day" was really about. It isn't the pomp and circumstance of the ceremony. It's not about have the right shade of brown for the bridesmaid dresses, the flowers, or anything else. It's about family.

And how M and I are uniting our two families for all time, and in the proccess taking the first step to starting our own.
